International Women's Day

Alhumdulillah, today we celebrate women’s day, in which we honor the sacrifices of our resilient sisters who preceded us and vow to continue in their path. there are not too many words I can muster to explain the depth of the bonds of sisterhood, but I can simply say that I am eternally grateful to have been blessed with amazing women in my life who I proud to call my sisters.

I want to give a shoutout to all the young (and not so young) ladies who I spent six years with during our aalima studies. their brilliance, kindness, and spirituality have touched my soul and I am all the better for it.

You see, Allah ﷻ has created in our ranks family for us. we may not be related by blood, but we are bound together by something far stronger: the love of Al- Ahad ﷻ. to accept someone that shares none of your ancestral lineage as your sister means putting Allah ﷻ before your familial pride. to support her the way you would your own blood requires you to silence, if not conquer, the most selfish parts of yourself. however, in the end, the One ﷻ for whose sake you reject the primal nature of your humanity will reward you.

May Allah ﷻ grant us all pious, rightly guided companions. may He ﷻ strengthen us in the bonds of sisterhood and make each of us a means of our beloveds falling in love with Allah ﷻ.

Ameen
